U.S. Residential Heat Pump Market Size By Product (Air Source, Ground Source, Water Source), By Compressor (Variable speed, Two-stage, Single stage), By Application (Single Family, Multi Family}, Industry Analysis Report, Application Potential, Competitive Market Share & Forecast, 2020 - 2026

The U.S residential heat pump market is anticipated to experience a remunerative growth phase over the coming years owing to the rising demand for energy efficient systems and the contribution of heat pumping technology in reduction of CO2 emissions.

A heat pump is an all-in-one heating system which moves heat from one place to another. This is done by using a compressor along with a circulating structure of gas or liquid refrigerant, here the heat is extracted from outside sources and then pumped indoors. It is to be noted that during the summer season a heat pump works like an air conditioner by reversing the cycle.

It takes heat from the house and then transfers it to the air that is outside. In winter season, the process can be reverted to make it act like a heater. The heat unit then collects the heat from outside air and then transfers it indoors. In addition to this, heat pumping generally utilizes less amount of electricity and can supply more cooling and heating than the amount of power they use to operate.

There are several advantages associated with heat pumps. The heat pumps are generally considered safer in comparison to combustion heating systems. These pumps also require less maintenance as compared to combustion heating systems. The heating pumps are also less expensive to run, and the more efficient these systems are, the greater the chance is of energy being saved.

In addition to this, the heat pump system also lowers the structurea??s carbon footprint and has the benefit to act as an air conditioning unit during warm months. The heat pumps have a long lifespan as well, and are thus considered a steady and reliable source of heat.

The U.S residential heat pump market is segmented in terms of product, compressor, and application.

Based on product, the market is classified into water source, air source, and ground source. The water source segment generally disperses heat by water instead of the air. The water source heat pumps require access to a lake, well, or another water source.

The air source segment is typically not so expensive to install and is used commonly. These generally work well during moderate climates, by utilizing the heat from outside as a medium for exchanging heat. The geothermal heat or ground source heat pumps reap the benefits of thermal energy which is stored underground and transfers heat in a same way to air source heat pumps.

In terms of application, the overall market is bifurcated into single family and multi family. Ongoing economic developments across the U.S. along with increasing investments toward development of residential establishments across suburban areas will boost the industry growth for multifamily application segment.
